Hyrox Training: Build the Engine, Not Just the Muscle
Strength gets you through the stations. Endurance keeps you moving between them. This week focuses on compromised running after functional work.
Strength gets you through the stations. Endurance keeps you moving between them. HYROX demands both.
You can have an impressive squat, a powerful sled push, and strong legs, but none of that matters if your cardiovascular system can't keep up. The real challenge is maintaining performance when your heart rate is elevated, your legs are exhausted, and there's still another kilometer to run.
This week's focus is compromised running, training your body to maintain running efficiency immediately after demanding functional movements.
This week's HYROX cardio challenge
Complete 4 rounds:
- 800m Run
- 20 Wall Balls
- 250m SkiErg
- 20 Walking Lunges
- 250m Row
Rest: 60-90 seconds between rounds.
The goal isn't to sprint through the first round. It's to maintain consistent pacing across all four. Control your breathing, manage your effort, and learn to run efficiently on tired legs.
Train smarter. Build endurance. Perform better.
HYROX isn't just about surviving the workout. It's about building the conditioning to perform when fatigue sets in.
